Rayanne & Ray’s wedding happened on a gorgeous day at the Oasis Centre in Edmonton. It’s always so much fun to witness the blending of two cultures and how our couples celebrate their unique sides. For the Rays, they went from a super chic outdoor champagne wedding to the indoor reception where they treated everyone to one of the best lion dance performances I’ve ever seen. Typical to asian weddings are the games played throughout the evening to get the couple to kiss. Ray had me laughing to the point of tears as he tried to move oreos from his forehead to mouth (no hands!). Rayanne showed off mad skills in balloon juggling and eating grapes off a string. This girl can hold her own! To top things off, Ray surprised Rayanne with a solo serenade … from the time they booked our services a year ago, he has been secretly taking singing lessons to surprise her on the wedding day. More tears.
Rayanne’s killer Chinese cheong-sam changes definitely turned heads and the groom’s cake, a replica of Ray’s X6 made by Annie at Cake Couture, kept people talking. The evening ended with a grand finale of outdoor lanterns and fireworks. Special thanks goes to Jannika at the Oasis Centre who was an incredible help and hostess for the event.
Just some explanation for the images to follow… I couldn’t resist a challenge from our bride and groom to participate in the drinking games. It was rock-paper-scissors, best of 3 and the loser has to take the shot. Guess I was lucky that night And I love that Ray was holding my flash!! Talk about an epic night with crazy awesome clients!!! Thanks Rays – we had a blast!!!
